It’s almost time to celebrate St. Francis!

Hi everyone!  Sunday School has started at Olivet, and we are looking forward to a great year!  On Sunday mornings, we will have a class for teens/youth and a class for younger kids (ages 5+).  The older class meets in the new blue classroom on the third floor and the younger class meets in the big classroom at the other end of the third floor.  Please contact Therese Chaplin at tchaplin@verizon.net for more information.

Starting soon, we will be packing food bags for Blessings in a Backpack, after the 10:30 service on alternate Sundays.  These food bags get handed out to children in the local Franconia area public schools, to take home as a food supplement for the weekend.  Packing the bags is a lot of fun for the whole family to participate in.

Also, Olivet’s annual Blessing of Pets is on Sunday, October 8 at 2 pm in the Chapel.  Pick up a flyer or two at church, and invite a friend or neighbor who has a pet.  We bless all animals, and beloved stuffed animals are welcome too!  We celebrate the life of St. Francis when we do our Blessing of Pets.  Francis loved all of God’s creation, including animals and birds.  You can read more about Francis (and other Fall saints) by clicking this link: growchristians.org
